Final Fantasy XI Mobile und Grandmasters enthüllt

Neben der neuen und letzten Erweiterung zu Final Fantasy XI plant Square Enix auch weitere Projekte, die mit dem MMORPG im Zusammenhang stehen. So enthüllte Square Enix auch ein neues Mobile-Projekt zum MMORPG. Zusammen mit Nexon will man die „brandneue Generation von Final Fantasy XI“ auf Smartphones und Tablets bringen. Diese neue Adaption ist natürlich an diese Geräte angepasst, dazu gehört auch die intuitive Steuerung mit Touchpad.

Während die Dienste für PlayStation 2 und Xbox 360 eingestellt werden, soll Final Fantasy XI also auf Smart-Devices offenbar noch ein wenig weiterleben. Final Fantasy XI Mobile erscheint in Japan, Korea, Nordamerika und Europa.

Neben Final Fantasy XI Mobile wurde mit Final Fantasy Grandmasters außerdem ein komplett neues Online-RPG für Smart-Devices angekündigt. Es soll 2015 zunächst nur in Japan erscheinen und teilt sich Welt, Charaktere und bekannte Jobs mit Final Fantasy XI. Final Fantasy Grandmasters wird gemeinsam mit Crooz Inc (Knights of Avalon) entwickelt und soll kooperative Kämpfe in Echtzeit bieten.
