In den letzten Tagen kam immer wieder das Gerücht auf, dass das Release-Datum von Final Fantasy XV, welches ursprünglich auf den 30. September datiert war, auf den 29. November dieses Jahres verschieben wird. Nun hat sich Director Tabata selbst mit einer Video-Botschaft an die Fans gerichtet und die Gerüchte bestätigt. In der offiziellen Presse-Mitteilung heißt es außerdem wie folgt:
TOKYO / LONDON / LOS ANGELES (Aug. 15, 2016) – To deliver the iconic FINAL FANTASY experience to audiences around the world, SQUARE ENIX® today announced that the global release date for FINAL FANTASY® XV will be November 29, 2016.
This release date will allow the development teams time to further polish and conduct quality testing so that the reality of the game can match the expectations of both the fans and the creative teams.
“From the moment we joined this project, our vision was to create a level of freedom and realism previously unseen in the series. Regrettably, we need a little bit more time to deliver on this vision and are confident that this new release date will help us achieve this,” said Hajime Tabata the game director. “As the director and lead of this project, I wish to personally apologize for the additional wait. As a team, we want FINAL FANTASY XV to achieve a level of perfection that our fans deserve. We kindly ask for your understanding.”
Final Fantasy XV wird nun offiziell am 29. November erscheinen. Die Entwicklung selbst ist abgeschlossen, man möchte die Zeit jedoch nutzen, um die Qualität zu verbessern, da man sich sicher ist, dass viele Fans enttäuscht sein werden, würde man beim ursprünglichen Plan bleiben. Auf der Gamescom-Messe in Köln wird es eine 30-minütige Gameplay-Präsentation geben, die auf der aktuellen Master-Version basiert.
UPDATE: Inzwischen liegt auch die deutsche Pressemitteilung vor. Darin steht nichts anders, allerdings gibt es eine Ergänzung zu Kingsglaive:
Ob es auch zu einer Änderung der Erscheinungsdaten der Disc-Versionen von KINGSGLAIVE: FINAL FANTASY XV und BROTHERHOOD FINAL FANTASY XV kommt, wird zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt bekanntgegeben. Das Veröffentlichungsdatum der digitalen Version von KINGSGLAIVE: FINAL FANTASY XV ändert sich nicht und ist weiterhin der 30. August 2016.
